I've been thinking of something to do for my next small DIY project and I think it's making concrete planters that I can place around the yard or the patio slab. These are relatively inexpensive to make as long as you already have some of the materials on hand. I would most likely be making several of these so I don't think I would have something to be thrown away as they do in this video:
Here is one that my friend Sunny turned me on to for a Rhomba Bench. This has got to be expensive but I'm sure there are more cost effective ways to approach these. I would simply like to make pods around my fire pit based on this concept. Cheng Designs has a lot of good DIY projects:
